Pupils took part in their first Marathon Challenge on Friday 17th July 2026.

Ellen-May Shipp, Senior Leader, said "This was our very first Amwell Marathon, every class came out to complete a lap of the St Margaretsbury Football Pitch with the overall aim to have covered the distance of a Marathon as a whole school, and we exceeded that by covering the distance of almost 2 Marathons.  

We could not have done it without the support of St. Margaretsbury Sports and Leisure Club who allowed us to use their football pitch and marked the field up with a track for the pupils and staff to follow.  All of the volunteers, especially Alex Vainella (Governor), who helped us to set up, supplied medals and handed them out to each of the pupils and cheered on every child as they completed their lap.  A special mention of course to our amazing pupils who joined in with the biggest smiles on their faces and the incredible staff who supported them.  

It was a great success and a fantastic way to celebrate the end of an another amazing year at Amwell View School."
