Information for Prospective Parents visiting the school

Hertfordshire County Council make all decisions regarding our admissions. All pupils admitted to Amwell View School and Specialist Sports College have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHC Plan) in place and have been accepted through provision panel as having Severe Learning Difficulties and allocated a place specifically for Amwell View School as the local school that can meet needs.

Once the decision is made for a special school placement the local authority will determine the match of the provision with the needs of the pupil as set out in the child’s EHC Plan.
Schools are then formally consulted with information about the child provided by Hertfordshire local authority.
In consultation with all parties if the school can meet the child's needs, then the admission process can start subject to the result of the provision panel and capacity at the school.

Amwell View is currently full to capacity and is only able to admit children when young people leave at the end of Year 14 or move provisions.

Please contact the Hertfordshire SEN Team for further guidance and view our virtual tour here.
Unfortunately, due to unprecedented demand for specialist provision we are unable to facilitate prospective parent tours outside this admission process.

Please see our Admissions Guidance page to ensure your child meets the criteria for a special school placement before contacting the school.
