Admissions

Hertfordshire County Council make decisions about our admissions based on information from parents and a variety of professionals.

All pupils admitted to Amwell View School have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHC Plan) and have Severe Learning Difficulties. The local authority is responsible for issuing, reviewing and maintaining the EHC Plan.

Once the decision is made for a special school placement the local authority will determine the match of the provision with the needs of the pupil as set out in the child’s EHC Plan.

Schools are formally consulted with information provided by Hertfordshire Local Authority about the child or young person. In consultation with all parties if the school is able to meet the young person’s needs, then the admission process can start, subject to the capacity of the school.
