We appreciate that parents and carers especially those new to the school will have many questions. Here are some answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.

What are the school opening hours?

School opens at 08:55hrs and finishes at 15:30hrs.

How do I report my child’s absence to the school?

Parents are required to contact the school directly either by telephone (01920 870027) or email (attendance@amwell.herts.sch.uk) explaining the reason for the absence.

How long before my child can return to school after an illness?

We ask that children and young people remain at home until they are well enough to return to school. You may wish to discuss their return with the school nurse. For sickness, diarrhoea and stomach bugs the children must not return to school for 48hours after their last bout of illness to reduce the likelihood of it spreading.

What do I do if my child is hospitalised?

Please inform the school, giving details of the reason for admission. On discharge from hospital a meeting with the school nurse is required in order to hand-over any information.
