Amwell View School continually evolves in how they approach both new and traditional events such as Sports Day. This year, they celebrated with 'Sports for All' events with a range of activities which were held across three different locations: Wodson Park Sports and Leisure Centre in Ware, their main school site based in Stanstead Abbotts and their satellite school in Tonwell.
The younger pupils took part in a ‘Stay and Play’ PE Lesson. The middle school pupils attended a 'Sports for All' Festival at the Tonwell satellite school and some of the older pupils participated in a 'Sports for All' morning at Wodson Park in Ware or enjoyed sporting activities alongside their peers. Parents and carers were invited to attend the events celebrating their children’s achievements and cheering them along.
Head of PE, Lucy McFayden said “The aim was to ensure that every pupil, parent and member of staff could celebrate sporting achievement in an environment that was inclusive, supportive and suited to individual needs. The ‘Sport for All’ celebrations were a great success. The pupils were fantastic and really enjoyed themselves. The holistic approach to this event enabled the sporting activities to be appropriate to each individual so that they could all participate, have fun and be active.”
